2. Jagatsukh - Naggar Castle – Roerich Art Gallery
Jagatsukh Temple- Famous Shiva temple in Shikhara style and an interesting old temple of Gayatri Devi and Sharvali created by the Pandavas.
Naggar Castle- The castle was the old capital of Kullu and built by Raja Bhosal. It is an imposing structure, built by using a local stone, the layers of which are punctuated by long pieces of cut wood. It rises, to be topped by a grey slate roof. Wooden brackets and carved windows are being restored to capture the originality of the castle. The style of construction ensured a lot of resilience in the structure, and it successfully withstood the mighty and disastrous earthquake of 1905. This is now a hotel, accepting guests round the year..
Roerich Art Gallery- An art gallery close to the Naggar castle with paintings of the famous Russian artist Nicholas Roerich. It houses a collection of paintings, embroidery, straw dolls, Russian dolls, musical instruments, ceramic ware, whistles and jewellery boxes, amongst a host of other articles.
1. Rohtang Pass
51 Km. from Manali, this is the highest point on the highway connecting the Kullu Valley to Keylong. The location offers skiing, trekking opportunity with a highest altitude of 4112 meters. The pass affords a wide spread Panoramic view of the mountain serenity, almost directly opposite the well defined Sonepani Glacier slightly left to the twin peaks of the Geypan. When Rohtang is closed due to snowfall, you can go upto Gulaba (halfway) for fun in the snow. The drive to the snow point is a very scenic one as you can see below
